Harder bristles don't do a better job of cleaning teeth than softer bristles. How you brush your teeth is more important. In fact, brushing for two to three minutes with a soft-bristled brush, gently massaging teeth and gums gets the job done. Soft, flexible bristles also clean between teeth and in hard-to-reach places better.
Kids should start off brushing with a soft toothbrush and soft-bristled brushes are appropriate for the whole family.
